Terranet receives 1,2 MSEK order from a leading global productivity partner for machine-to-machine communication.

Terranet and a leading global productivity partner in the resource sector, subsidiary to a listed conglomerate, have today entered into an agreement to perform a proof-of-concept (POC) designed to facilitate intelligent machine-to-machine and machine-to-mobile communications in an offline capacity.

“The 1.2 MSEK order was made as a result of demonstrating to our customer our ability to transfer wireless data through WiFi (802.11) infrastructures via machines and mobile phones, an area we see ourselves as leaders in. We are therefore excited at the prospect of making an important impact in the connected resources sector market via our offline connectivity capabilities,” says Pär-Olof Johannesson, CEO of Terranet.

The resources sector is – similarly to many other businesses – going through digitalization and then connectivity for machine-to-machine and mobile-to-mobile device communications will play an important role.

Upon completion of the POC, Terranet’s solution has the potential to be scaled across the leading global productivity partner’s subsidiaries, representing an important step in machine connectivity.
