2008-04-15: TerraNet awarded Red Herring 100 EMEA

“We at TerraNet were of course honored to make the cut for the final, but to actually be awarded a Top 100 win is really great fun. The conference in Malta where the award ceremony was held was themed ‘Ahead of the Curve’, and that turned into an opportunity for a number of productive meetings for us”.

Red Herring’s lists of top private companies are an important part of the company’s tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google, eBay and Skype were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors, and touted as leaders that would change the way we live and work. More information about Red Herring is available on the Internet at www.redherring.com.

TerraNet develops and markets a new wireless communications technology that enables telephony in areas without landline connection or mobile-network coverage. Mobile phones equipped with TerraNet technology forms their own network and communicates directly with each other.

One of the usages for TerraNet technology can be as a complement to GSM in countries where it is difficult to establish a profitable and sustainable telecommunication infrastructure.

TerraNet was also nominated as one of the 200 worldwide finalists for the Red Herring Global 2008.
